Default Tips for a new promoter

I am considering promoting an amateur mma and kickboxing show. I was hoping some of the promoters would be willing to share a few tips or common problems to watch out for. I was also wondering if IKF kickboxing could be done in a cage or if it had to be in a ring.

Thanks,

Nick Fletcher
